CODE RED — An Arcade Shooter Inspired by the Classics

Remember the arcade shooters like Virtua Cop and Time Crisis? CODE RED is my attempt to bring that kind of fast-paced, satisfying action back, with a modern twist.

CODE RED is a rail shooter developed in Unreal Engine 5, featuring precision shooting, enemy disarming, combos, different enemy behaviors, and boss encounters.

I've been developing this game solo, and this first playable prototype is a small taste of what I hope to turn into a much bigger experience.

What can you expect?

• Fast-paced arcade-style shooting inspired by Virtua Cop and Time Crisis.
• Disarm enemies by shooting their weapons and force them to change their tactics.
• Build combos, earn points, and improve your performance.
• Face different enemy types, including enemies that switch to melee attacks.
• Take on a boss encounter with unique mechanics.

Important: This Is an Early Prototype!

This build is not a finished or polished game. It's an early playable prototype that I'm sharing to see whether people enjoy the concept and would like to see it developed further.

There are some known issues:

• Boss encounter: Some animation, behavior, and pacing issues still need work.
• Pacing: Certain parts of the level drag on longer than intended.
• Performance: You may encounter FPS drops or inconsistent performance in some areas.
• General polish: Some visuals, effects, animations, and gameplay elements are still being improved.

These are issues I plan to address as development continues. I wanted to share the prototype in its current state rather than wait until everything is perfect.

My goal is to expand CODE RED into a complete arcade shooter, with multiple levels, new enemies, more challenging boss fights, improved visuals, and additional gameplay mechanics.
